Alexander Technique Retreat for Violinists and Violists
Restore Prevent Improve
The Alexander Technique Retreat for Violinists and Violists, back by popular demand, is returning to the northern Virginia and D.C. area April 12-14, 2019. Clinician Abigail Albaugh will share innovative insights and tools that performers and teachers can use to avoid injury, improve performance, and enable themselves and others to achieve their fullest potential as musicians. Attendees will benefit from hands-on guidance addressing unproductive habits of movement, excess tension, and playing injury issues. Knowledge of anatomy, healthy movements while playing, and procedures for self-care will give attendees resources to apply to their particular playing and teaching needs, creating a unique learning experience for each individual. The retreat is designed to provide a positive and healing atmosphere for participants to absorb Alexander Technique principles in a personalized, detail-oriented, and non-judgmental environment.
