WHAT I OFFER

A unique approach to violin pedagogy

Violin: Service

CUSTOMIZED LESSONS TO FIT YOUR NEEDS

Personalized Attention

Whether you're an advanced player or a beginner, lessons are tailored to your needs.  Multiple pedagogical backgrounds are combined to create a unique approach for each student, including the Suzuki approach (Certified in Books 1-3), Paul Rolland Pedagogy, the Kodaly Method, and principles from the Alexander Technique.

SUZUKI GROUP CLASSES

"Beautiful tone, beautiful heart." - Shinichi Suzuki

Violin group classes are offered to students in Suzuki Books 1-3.  Children are nurtured in a supportive and positive environment as they enjoy musical games and performance opportunities.  Elements of Paul Rolland Pedagogy and Alexander Technique are included to encourage freedom of movement and healthy playing.  Learning together, group classes not only encourage musical growth, but the development of the whole child.

ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE GROUP CLASSES FOR VIOLINISTS AND VIOLISTS

A small group setting

Enjoy coming together to learn tools for self-care, while also improving everything from tone production to posture and performance anxiety. Explore how the Alexander Technique can help us release unwanted tension, avoid injury, and play to our fullest potential.

CUSTOM CHINREST FITTINGS AND EQUIPMENT CONSULTATIONS

Improve your setup

Have you been struggling with uncomfortable equipment?  Do you suffer from neck or shoulder pain?  Are your arms tired and sore from gripping with too much tension?  Healthy playing requires properly fitted equipment.  A chinrest that fits well will help teach you how to use your body in healthy ways. Contact me for an equipment consultation (shoulder rests, etc.) or a Frisch and Denig custom chinrest fitting.  See chinrests.com for more information about Frisch and Denig Custom Chinrests.
